Outdoor Classrooms
Munford schools proudly feature numerous shared outdoor classrooms on their three campuses. Unlike traditional classrooms, these "hot spots" or "outdoor classrooms" offer unique, hands-on learning environments that immerse students in nature and real-world applications.
Below are snapshots of some of these outdoor classrooms. Students engage in content-related projects outside the conventional classroom setting. Instead of relying on textbooks, lectures, videos, or the internet, our outdoor classrooms provide direct experiences with nature and demonstration models, including bee hives, fisheries, and renewable energy sources.
These spaces encourage active, inquiry-based learning through real-world settings. Students participate in group problem-solving activities, fostering a deep engagement with the learning process while aiming for practical outcomes. Our students benefit from multi-sensory, experiential learning rather than spending most of their day at a desk. This approach enriches their educational experience and prepares them for real-world challenges
