Introduction to Music

All 6th grade students will participate in an Introduction to Music class. This class is designed to help students develop skills for informed listening, understanding, and appreciation of music. Basic elements including melody, harmony, rhythm, texture, and form are discussed and used to analyze significant periods of musical history. This class will also help students decide if they are interested in becoming a member of the school band.
